Trouble by Avery Flynn

Trouble eCover v300dpi

Synopsis

A high school reunion is about to get down and dirty and a whole lot more complicated in this new romance from USA Today bestselling author Avery Flynn.
Brains and a badass attitude. That’s all troublemaker Leah Camacho took with her when she left Catfish Creek. She’d promised herself she’d never go back, but when the invite to her tenth high school reunion arrived along with the chance to show everyone who doubted her what a success she’s made of herself, she couldn’t resist. However, when she discovers a 15-carat, stolen diamond in her rental car’s glove box, there’s only one man she can turn to for help—the same sexy, stubborn domineering man who’d smashed her heart all those years ago.
Sheriff Drew Jackson knew a long time ago that Leah Camacho was nothing but trouble and has sworn to never get caught up in her again—no matter how damn sexy she is or how badly he’d failed to forget her. But, when the woman who test drove his heart right into a concrete wall rolls into Catfish Creek with some serious bad guys on her tail, it’s up to him to keep her safe—even if that means guarding her hot bod 24/7 without giving into temptation or losing his mind.

Trouble, is a HOT spark filled Contemporary Romance, featuring Leah Camacho – aka “bad girl with a brain” & Drew Jackson – “Mr. Law and Order”.  Unable to resist the temptation to attend, Leah’s ten year high school reunion brings her back to her small hometown – “Population:  Lotsa Crazy.” in Texas.  Reunions can be taxing at best, especially with someone like Leah who - wherever she went, trouble was sure to follow.

With a smile on my face from page one, I knew instantly that this was going to be another funny, smart & oh-so-sexy page turner from Avery Flynn & boy was it ever.  Told in first person from dual points of view, the opposites attract, second chance romance is sexy & smart with a mystery twist.

As former lovers that still know just how to push each other’s buttons in that love to hate way, I couldn’t get enough of the push-pull spark between these two characters! – “…the best kind of trouble there is.”  Did I mention the super hot “Molten. Face of the sun. Texas in August record-setting heat wave.” sultry sexy chemistry?  I loved Leah & her no BS, go after what she wants mindset.  And who can resist a take charge of the situation, man who can make a woman feel safe with just one touch (fortunately there's much more than just one).

Still not sure if you should read this book? – “Oh. My. God. Forget everything else. Yes.” You won’t be able to put it down & when you’re done – like me, you’ll want to read not only the other books from great authors who’ve contributed to the fun & sexy Bad Boy Homecoming series, but Avery’s The B-Squad series as well.

Last Chance (Vegas Heat Novel, Book 3) by Erika Wilde

As the Executive Casino Hostess for The Onyx in Las Vegas, Valerie Downing is always on the lookout for the night's biggest winners. When she spots a man―one of the sexiest she's ever laid eyes on―generating huge excitement at the craps table, she knows she's in luck. Her goal: To make sure the high rollers stay at her hotel, and that any further gambling is invested right back into the casino. His aim: To enjoy some other "perks" that Valerie might have to offer…

Turns out Chase Pierson is already a VIP guest who happens to be working with Valerie's boss on a top-secret mission for the Reliance Group―one for which she too has been recruited because of her psychic abilities. But Valerie, bold and gorgeous as she is, is first and foremost a professional. No fraternizing with Onyx clientele is her motto…except this hard-bodied, infuriatingly charming client is tempting her to break all the rules.

LAST CHANCE contains light paranormal elements (heroine has psychic abilities)

Last Chance, book three of the Vegas Heat series, is a Contemporary Romance & another exciting combination of hot seduction & mystery thriller in one.  Valerie & Chase are thrown together to find the missing piece needed to solve a puzzle, only to find themselves fitting more than well together.   They will go on a once in a lifetime adventure from Nevada, to California, to Illinois, to Florida & back again where they will discover they have more in common with each other than they ever could have imagined.

Told in third person, from dual perspectives, this is a hot romance & intriguing mystery thriller.  Like its characters, this is a fun & adventurous story line, separate & different, but complimentary to the first two books in the series.  It has everything from lost treasure to love!  The story unfolds at a perfect pace & doesn't slow from beginning to surprisingly twisty end.

Valerie is a clairvoyant, which is often “more of a curse than a blessing--”.  She is confident, yet cautious when it comes to who she trusts...keeping her emotions close.  Enter Chase, with a rare ability of his own – he is charismatic, confident & exudes an easygoing charm, all packed into “a hard body made for all kinds of sin”.  I love the emotional connection these characters share, not to mention the sexy innuendos, banter & the “Holy…wow,” seductive chemistry.  The dynamic of close-knit, family-like ensemble of the cross-over characters, is wonderfully sweet & endearing.  Ultimately a story of heart’s desire & kindred spirits – a must read!

I’ve enjoyed the entire series so much - I’m really hoping that this will not be the last of the Vegas Heat series – come on Erika, give us one more for Caleb & Skye!!!

The Wrong Kind of Compatible by Kadie Scott

Data analyst Cassie Howard may be brilliant (and, okay, a little awkward), but she’s worked hard to get where she is. She definitely doesn’t need some sexy new analyst coming in and taking credit for her work. Or the inappropriate thoughts that keep popping out of her mouth she’d rather he not hear.

For undercover FBI agent Drew Kerrigan, computers have always made more sense than people, but he’d better develop some slick social skills in a hurry if he’s going to win over the too-tantalizing-for-his-sanity Cassie. Hacking their systems was easy. Now he’s just got to hack the one person in the company most likely to see through his ruse…

The Wrong Kind of Compatible, a smart, sexy Contemporary Romantic Comedy, the first of the Love Undercover series. Cassie & Drew are two scary smart, data analysts working hard to build their careers in New York City.  Cassie is a woman who simply doesn’t do sub-par & is currently laser focused on an analysis that will take the company she works for to an even higher level.  Drew is the new computer whiz hired to help her make that happen – who also happens to be one of the best hackers in the world.

Told in third person point of view this is a fun, cute, Big Bang Theory-esque, fast paced read.  Between Cassie’s internal dialogue & involuntary verbal outbursts “Holy smoking hotness, Batman.  No computer nerd has a right to look like that.” & Drew’s complete lack of people skills – “Computers he got.  Interactions with people took effort.” the quirky dialogue of these characters will have you cracking up.  They have a great instant connection that is built upon as the story progresses.  Romance, comedy with a mini-mystery who dun it, a little of everything.

I really enjoyed these characters.  Cassie with her impressive mind, quick wit, the classic smart girl, sensible, logical, capable, amazing at her job –are only a few of her loveable quirks.  And Drew – who doesn’t love a man who is all sorts of awkward!  I adored the word play & how these characters kept up with each other on their own level – stimulating exchanges along with an undercurrent of sexual innuendo  “Her smart complimented his smart in an even better way than how her awkward mirrored his own.  Crazy funhouse mirror style, but still the same.”... "Wait?  Did I say that one out loud?"

Punched by Jacob Chance

Reagan is the one who got away - or should I say the one I drove away? Now, four years later, she’s back to manage the gym where I train. Seeing her everyday is a distraction I can’t afford. I’m so close to achieving the big payoff I’ve been working for. Nothing’s going to keep me from winning this belt - not even her.

Punched by Jacob Chance is a sexy Contemporary Sports Romance takes you on a journey of up & coming MMA fighter Noah Nolan, a tried & true Southie living, working & fighting in Boston.  Reagan, a recent college grad & back in Boston to stay.  She might be his kryptonite, but it's Noah who broke Reagans heart.  Will their history be enough to bring them together, or will the opportunities the big fight could hold tear them apart?

"Anything worth having comes with hard work - or maybe it's anything worth having is worth waiting for."

Written in first person, from dual perspectives, including some flash-backs, this is a fast read for fans of romantic second-chances.  A definite page turner, this story has a little bit of everything, having to grow up fast, young love, manipulation, heartbreak, will they-won't they, all in the world of MMA fighting.

I felt like the MMA fighting piece of the story was well written, very detailed in the technical aspects of the sport, where the love story was a little over the top at times, felt rushed & with less focus.  I would have loved for the relationship part of the story to have been told in greater depth, but this is a definite MMA fighting crowd pleaser.

Take a Chance (Vegas Heat Novel, Book 2) by Erika Wilde

BLURB

The son of a con-artist, Sean O'Brien learned the hard way that living by your own rules comes with a price. After a brief time behind bars, Sean is now ready to live an honest life, and pay for his past mistakes, and he's fortunate enough that a member of The Reliance Group sees Sean's potential for good and gives him a job at the Onyx Casino. Zoe Russo has met all types of men on the Vegas strip. But when Sean pays a visit to her boutique, she's certain her luck has changed for the better. They share an immediate, irresistible attraction, and for the first time in her life she's found a man she thinks she can trust. But when Zoe stumbles onto the truth about Sean and his reasons for pursuing her, she can't help but question everything they'd shared. Are his feelings for her real, or has she been a fool once again? Until now, nothing has prepared her for the thrill and risk of taking a chance on love.

My Review
Take a Chance, book two of the Vegas Heat series, is a Contemporary Romance & another exciting combination of hot seduction & criminal thriller in one.  Sean & Zoe, meet in the hustle bustle of the Las Vegas business district & the results are an immediate. mutual. attraction.  Together they'll work to solve a mystery that has a very personal connection for both of them & discover their pasts are far more intertwined then they ever could have imagined.

Told in third person, from dual perspectives, this is a super hot romance & intriguing criminal thriller that is not only well written on both accounts, but also includes a secondary, equally amazing story line.  More appreciation for author Erika Wilde & her ability to include sensitive subjects in a emotional, heartfelt, real-edge way. Full of sultry, sexy trysts, the story unfolds at the perfect pace & doesn't slow from beginning to it's oh-so twisty, oh-my-goodness end.

Can you tell I really enjoyed this book?  These characters are "fun and flirty, and very, very sexy."  Sean is a devastatingly handsome, bad-boy ex-scam artist with above board bullshitting skills & the natural ability to make women feel weak in the knees.  He's "more sinful than any pastry or candy" & looking to ease some guilt from his past & settle a long-overdue score...qualities, that make his character super yummy.  Zoe is working to build a name for herself as a designer & isn't the kind of girl to rely on any man, sophisticated & successful, she is such a delightfully daring, open, sweet & strong woman trying desperately to resist Sean's charms... "Why can't you kiss like a Saint Bernard and look like a troll?". The kind of woman who grows to believe the words of wisdom from a fortune cookie "Sometimes the object of the journey is not the end, but the journey itself."  What in the world does that mean you ask?  READ THIS BOOK
Enjoy

Although each book in the Vegas Heat series can be read as a standalone, I'm looking forward to book three, Last Chance coming soon.

The Last Guy by Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise

BLURB
The first rule of office romance is don’t do it—especially if your dream is to hold the anchor spot on the nightly news and your boss is trying to get you fired.
But one look at Cade Hill, the sexy new sports director, and uptight reporter Rebecca Fieldstone is daydreaming about other things.

Sex in his office…
Sex in the on-set kitchen…
Sex in the supply closet…

She can’t stop thinking about the former NFL quarterback and how perfect he’d look between her sheets—except he’s an arrogant jerk with a huge…ego.

He’s the last guy she’d ever have a one-night stand with.

Cade Hill draws a thick professional line on office romance—until it comes to the hyper-focused Rebecca. He wants her, and he gets his wish when a chance encounter has them having the hottest sex of their lives.

It’s just a hook-up, she says.
When can we do it again? he says.

With Rebecca determined to keep Cade in the friend zone, it’s going to be an uphill battle for Cade to convince her he’s the last guy she’ll ever want.
THE LAST GUY is the first white-hot CONTEMPORARY, ROMANTIC COMEDY from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise. It features Fireball-fueled hookups, Doritos Locos Tacos, attack monkeys, toddlers in tiaras, and one fabulous drag queen. Prepare for frantic clicking (or page flipping!) and smoking-hot sexytimes all the way to the out-of-this-world happily-ever-after.

The Last Guy is a super HOT Contemporary Romantic Comedy. Appropriately set in hotter than hell Houston Texas, home of Rebecca & Cade, two driven, good hearted, tried & true Texans.  Rebecca has "two weaknesses in life: a muscular backside so toned you could bounce a quarter off it and Mexican food..." & Cade Hill aka Captain sexy has had his eye on Rebecca since the beginning, "with her laser focus and her utter disinterest" in him.  A combination destined "To dreams coming true in the most out-of-this-world way..."

Written in first person, from dual perspectives, this book was such a fun read, true to the blurb, I couldn't put it down!  Dripping with snarky banter that is smart, funny & sexy.  I love the music, book & movie pop culture references throughout the story - sure to have something for every reader.  You will find yourself blushing one minute with its oh so dirty talk & Oh. My. God. crazy monkey sex, then Laughing. Out. Loud. the next.   No major twist or turns, but definitely an unexpected play or two.

This story is just like its characters
"A bit zany, compassionate, funny and crazy in the sack..."

Game of Chance by Erika Wilde

EWGameofChanceCover5x8_BW_HIGH

Game of Chance by Erika Wilde
Publication Date: June 8th, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

A former Marine and Las Vegas vice cop, Nathan Fox has seen it all and then some. Heading up security for the Onyx Casino is tame compared to his dark past, but it's not his only job. Working for the Reliance Group is his real passion project. His current case: a missing woman. His mission: to find her. Easy enough, until he finds himself tangled up with sexy Nicole Hutton, a stubborn—and stunning—journalist who's nosed her way into his investigation . . . and into his dirty, erotic fantasies.
Resisting Nicole is impossible, and he soon discovers that in this dangerous high stakes game of chance, falling in love is the greatest risk of all.

Game of Chance, book one of the Vegas Heat series, is a Contemporary Romance that is a combination of hot seduction & criminal thriller in one.  For Nathan & Nicole, meeting under unusual circumstances one night in Las Vegas results in an immediate attraction & an equally unusual opportunity to achieve personal goals - to stop injustice, right a wrong, find forgiveness, save a young woman from her demons - goals that might be very mutual.

Told in third person, from dual perspectives, this is a super hot romance & intriguing criminal thriller that is well written on both accounts.  Nathan's bad-boy, enticing charm, honorable with a fierce ability to protect qualities, make his character irresistible.  Nicole was "a small-town girl with stars in her eyes and big dreams in her heart" who learned a cruel life lesson leaving her mistrusting & guarded, but making her strong, independent & courageous enough to stand up for what she believes in.  I really appreciate the way some of the sensitive subject matter was handled realistically by author Erika Wilde.  The story unfolds at the perfect pace & doesn't slow from beginning to it's oh-so twisty end.

Although each book in the Vegas Heat series can be read as a standalone, I'm looking forward to book two, Take a Chance coming soon.
