For Nathan & Nicole, meeting under unusual circumstances one night in Las Vegas results in an immediate attraction & an equally unusual opportunity to achieve personal goals - to stop injustice, right a wrong, find forgiveness, save a young woman from her demons - goals that might be very mutual.
Told in third person, from dual perspectives, this is a super hot romance & intriguing criminal thriller that is well written on both accounts. Nathan's bad-boy, enticing charm, honorable with a fierce ability to protect qualities, make his character irresistible. Nicole was "a small-town girl with stars in her eyes and big dreams in her heart" who learned a cruel life lesson leaving her mistrusting & guarded, but making her strong, independent & courageous enough to stand up for what she believes in. I really appreciate the way some of the sensitive subject matter was handled realistically by author Erika Wilde. The story unfolds at the perfect pace & doesn't slow from beginning to it's oh-so twisty end.
Although each book in the Vegas Heat series can be read as a standalone, I'm looking forward to book two, Take a Chance coming soon.
