BLURB
Love is supposed to be a fairy tale.
Ours is a death wish.
I'm the executioner for the Bedlam Brotherhood.
She's a con artist working for my greatest enemy.
I use her.
She manipulates me.
We find ourselves on opposite sides of a bloody war.
My heart and head tell me I have to stay away.
My lust for her doesn't give a sh*t.
Nothings fair in love and gang war.
MY REVIEW
Perversion, book 1 of T.M. Frazier's Perversion Trilogy. The story of a boy - lost, handed off, surviving at all costs. And a girl - found, fighting to make it to 18 when she will be free. A meeting of chance, a zap of energy that "...still hummed..." for years after. Living & surviving by any means necessary in a place where "The violence escalates with each passing day." & "Justice comes in the form of a bullet or a blade."
Told in first person, from dual perspectives, this is a story of survival, violence, love, betrayal & hope. A wonderful "White trash Romeo and Juliet." These characters are not just connected tangibly, they share a soul deep, white hot attraction like none other "...pulsing between us like a live wire..." Angsty romance, loyal friends, family that are both blessing "...kindness when I didn't deserve it." & curse "...ruthless..." Heartache & death all before a chilling twist of you won't see coming, leaving you ready for Possession, book 2.
This was my first T.M. Frazier read & it was a page turner, intriguing & captivating ~ I couldn't put down. I enjoyed the wit, sarcasm & pull between these characters, along with the mix of rage & despair they carry to survive. "...trapped between a life I can't have and a death I don't want." Officially a new fan of Frazier & hooked on this trilogy.
ARC received in exchange for an honest review.
